Suicide or murder? If it's suicide, it'll be old news soon. If it's murder, we've got ourselves another pretty white thing for national obsession.

ROYAL OAK, Mich. - A former TV news anchor in Michigan who was accused of embezzling from a man she dated and advised financially has been found dead in her home.

What a racist remark!

She did a lot of wrong things. But then again, I will never judge her on that. I have done wrong as well. It is unfortunate she will only be remembered as going out in a "cowardly" way when she felt she "couldn't take it anymore."
It's easy to say she made choices and regardless of her desperation the last one will be what she will most likely be remembered for.
Before you put the cart before the horse, look within yourself to wonder what desperation she must have felt that led her to make the choices she did to survive.
This does not even begin to justify that choice.
All I know is, when people get desperate, they act in irrational ways that is unbecoming of their character.
I seriously doubt Suzanne decided when her life was good that she would like to someday find that something was missing. That she would feel a need to steal and take advantage of others.
Again, this does not justify anything she did.
I believe that she would have preferred to not be in such a desparate position to start with.
She had the tools and the know how. From what I have read, ask anybody who knew her, they wouold have a degree of compassion as well.
But then again, I have to put myself in the shoes of the man she brazenly stole from as the papers indicate. If that is true, which her suicide will lead us all to believe, then we can only wonder. Wonder why our world is so screwed up that supposedly good people make such bad choices.
I can't justify that part.
It just scares me to think that there are others out there who are desperate as well.
Are we just too materialistic?
Are we just too stuck on oursleves?
Are we just prisoners of our own device?
Are we victims of the local flagging economy?
Are we just so desperate that we don't think rationally?
Are we so desperate that we should make choices so someone else should have to pay for our own bad choices?
And why does someone who is trustful have to take a financial fall because he chooses to trust?
There are too many questions and not enough answers.
I have to, on the same token, imagine being totally ripped off of my life's proceeds that are now unreplaceable.
Would I feel an anger?
Yes.
I would.
So where is the answer?
Why should someone have to lose all they have worked for becuase someone is desperate?
And why should the one who took that be unaccountable after choosing to"check out" on life?
We all hate when someone rips us off. in fact, in a movie, I remember a line:
"I'm going to kick your a$$ like you tried to take my money!"
Where do you separate compassion with anger?
The man whose money she embezzled has every right to feel anger.
What is he going to get?
The dead don't pay restitution.
You can't place a lien on a foreclosed house.
Can we place a lien on a foreclosed life?
What does this sad story teach us?
Does it teach us not to trust?
To the man who was ripped off, it's hard to trust.
So what is the answer?
We should try to find that within ourselves before we judge.
