Tour De Rook-2008

I retrieved my bike from the garage and hit the paths here in Hastings. It is my first bike ride of 2008. I actually surprised myself with some good numbers. Well, good numbers for me. I managed to ride 9.45 mile at an average speed of 11 mph with a total riding time of 50 minutes and 56 seconds.

As usual, early in the season, my muscles are what limit my performance. Out of shape, and having to deal with the usual extra 20 to 30 pounds I put on over the winter, I rarely achieve a lung burning workout. Instead, my leg muscles wimp out on me. And that is what happened today. Still, those are good personal numbers for my first leg of the year.

Good on ya, Rook. I've been looking for a bike just to avoid using the car for trips to the store for small things that don't require trunk space.
