My power supply died on my hp pavilion 754n. But, a quick search on the internet garnered me a replacement power supply. Until it arrives via UPS, I am stuck using my laptop with Windows Vista. It is slow and clunky. It works well enough, but is missing some important programs, which I do not want to install. So, until my desktop pc is up and running, I am going to have to put the Blogger's Chess Match on hold. Sorry Jim. My chess program was one of them, and it does not run on Vista worth a damn.

I can wait. Hell, this game is almost two months old -- what's a few more days?
But if you want slow and clunky, my computer is ten years old. I get by. Part of my problem is, I live in an area that's recessed, and in a sub-level apartment on top of that. I wanted to get Clearwire, a local wireless service, for the used MacBook I got, but they don't serve where I live because they can't get the signal down enough to reach me. That's the most screwed up Internet-related thing I've ever heard. The only alternative is Verizon, and they get too much of my money already -- I may just settle on a USB modem for the MacBook until I move to an area which is Clearwire-friendly next year.
Til further on...
