Let me just go on record that for Chris Matthews to say he forgot the President is black actually speaks well for him. I mean, for crying out loud, Matthews is as close to albino as a man can get without actually being albino. As an icon of white, male privilege, you can not get any closer than Matthews. So, to hear him say he forgot President Obama was black somehow speaks volumes about the overall social shift occurring in our country. And, as inarticulate as he was at that moment, he appeared to not mean it in a negative, or derogatory manner.
