I want to know, because I have yet to understand why people read his columns. What makes David Brooks so damn important that what he has to say needs to be listened to? Did he accomplish some great feat that set our country back on the road to greatness? Did he learn to turn lead into gold? Did he fly all by himself to the moon and back? Honest to Flying Spaghetti Monster, what in hell did he ever accomplish that we should trust his word on anything?
Mind you, I am not saying he is not important. Obviously he has some impact on the national dialog. He gets to do his conservative punditry spin on NPR and other outlets. I just do not see how he was able to gain such a position. From what I have read of him on occasion over the years, he seemed to be on the wrong side of history.
