To the stats!

  • Thumbnail image for Tour_Rook.gifTotal Distance: 10.03 miles
  • Elapsed riding time: 0:56:33
  • Top Speed: 25.2 mph
  • Average Speed: 13.7 mph
  • iPod: Cities 97 Sampler 18
  • Wind: 5 mph SW
  • Humidity  34%
  • Temperature: 61° F
Not much to say. It has been a while since I have peddled the old Tour De Rook. A combination of the weather, the flooding, and my just not having the motivation or the energy. Yet, despite the length since the last leg, I feel pretty good. I did not push myself all that hard. In fact I actually took it easy. So, I have to say I am surprised I managed an average speed of 13.7 mph. There was a time when I would have been blown away by that high of an average. Now, it is taking it easy.

I Am Not An Atheist

Nor do I play one on this blog. However, I am not a literalist* either.

Understand; I believe whole-heartedly in God. I just am not a literal believer in "Teh Bible." Too many people are able to take the literal words of religious texts and justify all sorts of barbaric, inhuman, and hateful behavior against their fellow beings for me to willingly and blindly believe that a man can trade away his wife and children for goats. It just ain't going to happen.

* New word! New word! I claim the privilage of being coiner of this new word. As such I demand a 1% cut of the earnings (pre-profit) from all blogs, books, news sites, and other sundry publications, broadcasts (web-based or airwaves), and mental thinking that uses my new word.

Seriously. Use my word and not pay up I will sic my internet gremlins after you. Do not make the mistaking of thinking this is an idle threat. Well, it is; but do not make the mistake of thinking it is.

Puts It In Perspective

It is not often that Wil posts anything political. So when he does, it is really about something he strongly believes, or that is really quite good. This is really quite good.

Since I am now on a blogging spree, I figured I would give you a look at my lunch:

For those of you wondering, they are all beef uncured hotdogs in Whole Wheat Milwaukee Brat Buns. The cheese puffs? Why, they are Earl's Cheese Puffs. They are by far the best damn cheese puffs in the world. And not just because they are made right here in Minnesota. They really are damn good.

I tried to find a web page for the company that makes them, Earl's Food Products, but none exists. That is fine. I am glad they put their efforts into making damn good products instead of web sites.

Oh, and they make killer popcorn too. Their triple mix is also damn good.

And yes, I know I have been saying damn good a lot. I like redundancy.

Hey! At least recognize I separated a from lot.

To the stats!

  • Thumbnail image for Tour_Rook.gifTotal Distance: 10.36 miles
  • Elapsed riding time: 0:43:31
  • Top Speed: 26.7 mph
  • Average Speed: 14.2 mph
  • iPod: Matchbox Twenty - Exile on Mainstream
  • Wind: 10 mph NNW
  • Humidity  23%
  • Temperature: 72° F

I am actually quite happy with today's stats. Considering I felt tired and stiff from Thursday's leg I am surprised I even managed an average speed of  14.2 mph.

So far this morning I've managed to do a journal entry, make a fruit smoothie, meditate, and go for a bike ride. Now it is time to make myself some lunch. Then it is off to Menard's or Lowe's, or some such place where I can find a lawn mower and weed trimmer. You all have a nice day. Oh, and do not destroy the country while you are at it.

About Blogging

So, I am not yet completely settled into my new abode. I have boxes yet to unpack, furniture to arrange more permanently, and a lawn mower and weed trimmer to acquire. As such, the yard is quite jungle-like in it's present condition. I am thinking of purchasing an electric mower with a removable rechargeable battery. If I have the funds. Otherwise it will be the completely global warming gas mower model; not to mention noise polluting.

However, on a good note; Cinnamon quickly and happily settled into the larger space. After nearly 3 years of cramped, crowded abodes, she now enjoys the ability to run around the three floors with wild abandon. As a result, she is already starting to lose weight. Well, that and I have put her on a austerity diet that would make most European nations giddy.

And one final note: I found the charger for my camera's battery. So, I ought to be able to post more pictures soon. I might even give you an exterior shot of the new castle. Or not. We are talking about me and my ability to completely and totally devolve back into the world's greatest unpublished blogger.

Oh, wait............
