Sorry about the lack of posts, but I have been busy moving. Oh, and working. It has been a tiring week and a half. But, we are moved in. Now I am trying to get caught up on my emails. I have been without internet access since the 11th. Tomorrow Comcast will be stopping by the apartment to get us hooked up.

Right now I am at the Dunn Bros. Coffee on University and Osborne, just a few blocks from one of my jobs.

Anyway, just wanted to drop a quick post. More information later.

Damn, my lucky day! The Grand Ave. Dunn Bros. Coffee Shop is serving Sumatra today. Damn best coffee ever.

A low census means a low level of paperwork. That allows for more down time. Normally, I'd read some book to shore up my understanding about Health Realization. But it's just too damn beautiful outside to sit in an office and read. So, instead, I've decided to sit in a coffee shop and blog. Of course, I walked to the coffee shop. I mean, duh! I'm not going to drive the two block distance to this particular cafe.

I've perused most of my favorite blogs and have not learned anything new since this morning. Mostly, it's a lot of sound and fury signifying nothing but the usual impatience with change. Slow change is the one trait we humans of the 21st Century share with Tolkien's hobbits.

On a more personal level, I have to say I finished up the most delicious banana bread I've ever had the honor to consume. Mostly because it contained chocolate chips. Mmmmmmm, chocolate chips.

Well, I suppose I best get my butt back to work. I've got a group to run tonight.

At The Acoustic Cafe

A coffee shop in Winona. We took a drive down the Mississippi River Valley and needed coffee. However, we decided, once inside, to switch to Iced Chi Tea. So, now the band is setting up, I'm with The GirlFriend™, and everything is copacetic.

Coffee Shop Blogging

Currently, The GirlFriend™ and I are at Sisters; A Coffee Shop. It resides in the old store front building in Historic Downtown Hastings where Professor Java's was located before the landlord chased that business out. Sisters, for it's part, has a much cleaner and brighter atmosphere than Java's did. But it does lack the beatnik character that Java's radiated.

Also, Sisters definitely draws the women -- I am only one of three males in the building. The rest of the crowd is female. I'd say I am outnumbered 5 to one.

The food is exquisite. I had a panini breakfast sandwich -- fried eggs, ham, chedder cheese on grilled sour dough bread. I am content.

The GirlFriend™, on the other hand, is punchy. After working a double, she's tired. At the moment, she's both frowning and squinting at her computer screen. That's because she left her glasses at home, so she's frustrated at not being able to see the screen clearly. Vanity, thy name is The GirlFriend™. She's also mocking one of the other women in the store, who's laugh is a cackle right out of an old witch story.

Politics is the control of wealth and power. You are being conditioned to condemn politics as petty and boring, thus granting all the more control to the powers that be. You are either a part of the problem or a part of the solution. The choice is yours.
